Flash Floods & Helicopter Crash

  • A rescue helicopter (Mi-17) carrying relief supplies crashed in Mohmand district due to bad weather, tragically killing all five crew members aboard, including two pilots.

  • In the past 48 hours, at least 321 people have died in northern Pakistan, with 307 of those fatalities in KP, according to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority.

  • The meteorological department issued a heavy rainfall alert for the northwest, urging people to take precautionary measures.


Worsening Toll & Severe Damage

  • Cloudbursts, landslides, and flash floods have devastated KP, resulting in over 307 deaths. Infrastructure damage is extensive—74 houses destroyed, 63 partially damaged, and 11 completely lost.

  • The floods have also impacted Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK)—where 11 people died (including 5 children) and 417 houses were affected—and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), reporting 12 fatalities.

  • Heavy rains are expected to continue until August 21, according to officials.
